Golden Key is excited to introduce Obriel T. Maposa, one of Golden Key’s 2020 Professional Development Award winners. Obriel earned his Bachelor’s in Marketing Management in 2017, his Honors Bcom in Marketing Management in 2019, and is working on his Master’s in Marketing at the North-West University.

“It is hard for me to put this feeling into words,” Obriel says. “I feel humbled and honoured to be one of the recipients of this Golden Key Award that had amazing candidates from various Chapters.”

Obriel feels that his achievements come from a higher power.

“I would like to thank God, for it is through Him that I can do all things,” Obriel shares.

Obriel appreciates Golden Key’s learning opportunities.

“I am earnestly grateful for the platforms that the Golden Key International continues to create for members like myself to reach our full potential as leaders,” Obriel remarks.

Obriel dedicates his award to his family.

“I would also like to dedicate this award to my family for their love and support,” Obriel mentions.

Obriel has worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic for his professional development.

“During the height of the Coronavirus pandemic, I dedicated most of my time undertaking more online professional development courses,” Obriel explains. “I am glad that through this award, I will be able to continue investing my time in this space.”

Obriel celebrates his peers who have focused on professional development as well.

“Last but not least, I would like to share this award with all the applicants who managed to do the same–focus on professional development–during this difficult time, you are all stars and winners,” Obriel says.

Golden Key is pleased to introduce Heidi Jones, one of Golden Key’s 2020 Professional Development Award winners. Heidi earned her B.A. in English Language and Literature from Brigham Young University in 2009, her M.A. in English Language and Literature from Weber State University in 2012, and her Graduate Certificate in Online Teaching for Grades K-12 from Arizona State University in 2015.

“I am excited to grow professionally using the funds from the Golden Key Professional Development Award,” Heidi says. “This scholarship will allow me to boost my knowledge and credentials in my career field in ways a traditional education would not.”

Heidi enjoys expanding her credentials through certifications.

“Increasingly, professional certifications are the route to stand out in many professional fields,” Heidi explains. “My career has grown along a very non-traditional path.”

Heidi’s original path was in Law School, but she found a passion for teaching and decided to pursue that instead.

“I grew up in Bountiful, Utah but now reside in Kaysville, Utah,” Heidi shares. “Other academic scholarships I have received include full-tuition scholarships for each year of my undergraduate studies, and a 75% tuition scholarship to Brigham Young University law school, although I ultimately decided not to attend to pursue teaching.”

Golden Key is delighted to introduce Stanley du Preez, one of Golden Key’s 2020 Graduate Scholar Award winners. Stanley earned an accelerated honours Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science in 2016, and a Doctorate of Medicine in 2020 from Griffith University.

“Achieving the Graduate Scholar Award is a product of passion and purpose in life, the enduring encouragement of family and friends, and a generous dose of grit,” Stanley says. “This incredible honour from the Golden Key Society will greatly support my dreams of contributing to humanity through medicine and research.”

Stanley has a strong ambition and drive in all the work he does.

“I am an ambitious student motivated by a passion for personal growth, possessing a steadfast enthusiasm to contribute to the lives of others,” Stanley shares. “I’m an individual that actively seeks to provide exceptional human services and develop worthwhile connections with others.”

Stanley believes that his success has been influenced by his loved ones.

“I am exceptionally grateful to be chosen for this prestigious prize and extend my heartfelt thanks,” Stanley remarks. “Undoubtedly, I would not have achieved this award or be where I am today without my loved ones. Thank you so much for continuing to believe in me. This victory is as much yours as it is mine.”
