Golden Key is pleased to introduce Jason Isaacs, one of Golden Key’s 2020 Graduate Scholar Award winners. Jason earned a Specialized Honours B.A. in Psychology from York University in 2015 and is pursuing his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Dalhousie University.

“I am very grateful to have been selected as a recipient of Golden Key’s Graduate Scholar Award,” Jason says. “To me, receiving this award highlights that perseverance and determination, especially in the face of numerous setbacks and a global pandemic, can be extremely rewarding. This award will facilitate the continuation of my research and clinical work during my Ph.D., with the ultimate goal of making an impact as a clinical psychologist.”

Jason is very dedicated to his studies and has had many research and clinical experiences.

“I am a clinical psychology Ph.D. student with a broad range of research and clinical experiences,” Jason explains. “I have provided assessment and treatment to both children and adults. Some of my main clinical and research interests include substance use, health psychology, sleep problems, and issues facing teens and young adults.”

Jason’s hard work has paid off, and he has had the opportunity to be affiliated with many large organizations worldwide.

“Originally from Toronto in Canada, I have been fortunate to develop and maintain several affiliations with membership organizations including the Canadian Psychological Association, the Association of Psychologists of Nova Scotia, the American Psychological Association, and the Canadian Society of Addiction Medicine,” Jason shares.

By way of Jason’s dedication to his education, he has received many scholarships.

“I am also pleased to note that I have received prior academic awards during my undergraduate and graduate degrees, including a Nova Scotia Graduate Scholarship, an AbbVie IBD Scholarship, a Maritime Spor Support Unit Award, a Nova Scotia Health Research Foundation Scotia Scholars Award, and a Queen Elizabeth Scholarship.”

Thank you for being a part of the Golden Key family, Jason; we wish you the best of luck finishing your Master’s degree!
