The 235th Golden Key chapter, NDSU was established on November 21, 1995, and officially chartered on April 16, 1996, as part of the Mountain West Region (now U.S. Region 6, which includes institutions in Alaska, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming.)
