We invite you to join us in making a meaningful impact on the lives of the children at Jakaranda and Louis Botha Children’s Homes. These homes, located in Pretoria, provide care for approximately 237 school-going children, many of whom face academic challenges due to developmental delays, past trauma, and limited educational support.

Despite receiving basic care and schooling, many children struggle academically, particularly in Mathematics, English, and Afrikaans. Without proper intervention, they risk missing out on critical educational milestones, limiting their future opportunities. To address this, they are seeking passionate volunteers and donations to support their academic development.

How You Can Help:

1. Tutoring & Homework Assistance

   • Volunteer as a tutor for Mathematics, English, Afrikaans, Physical Science, Accounting, Business Studies, or general homework support.

   • Assist in a dedicated homework area for learners needing extra help.

   • Provide study skills and mentorship to help students build effective learning habits.

2. Educational Resources & Infrastructure

   • Donate essential items for study spaces: desk lamps, wall clocks, fans, whiteboard markers, etc.

   • Contribute laptops with internet access and printers for research and project completion.

   • Provide project materials: posters, colored paper, markers, craft supplies, etc.

3. Career & Skills Development

   • Offer job shadowing opportunities to expose students to different career paths.

   • Participate in career expos to guide students on subject choices and future careers.

   • Lead workshops on study methods, leadership, financial literacy, CV writing, and job applications.

4. Motivation & Personal Development

   • Serve as a mentor and academic role model.

   • Become a motivational speaker to inspire and educate students.

   • Help develop reading programs and computer literacy courses.
