(ATLANTA, February 23, 2007) Golden Key International Honour Society is proud to host the Atlanta Launch Party for the highly anticipated We Are Family CD/DVD. In conjunction with Universal Music/Bungalo Records, the Points of Light Foundation & Volunteer Center National Network celebrates the retail launch of this stellar collaboration featuring top musical artists. Hosted at Golden Key headquarters (621 North Avenue NE, Suite C-100, Atlanta, GA 30308) on Tuesday, February 27, 2007 from 6-8 pm, this high profile event will draw local artists, business partners, heads of national nonprofit organizations, media, and supporters, family and friends of the We Are Family campaign.
The Points of Light Foundation & Volunteer Center National Network has worked with Grammy-winning producer Rodney Jerkins to raise funds to benefit disaster relief and family strengthening efforts across America through a full-length CD featuring an all-star remake of the '70s hit, "We Are Family". Artists featured on the single include Patti LaBelle, Atlanta-native Ciara, Chris Brown, Ray J, and many others. This special compilation, available exclusively through Golden Key, also includes a poster designed by Thomas Kinkade, "The Painter of Light", and a behind-the-scenes DVD featuring exclusive artist interviews including cameos by Serena Williams and Alfre Woodard.
Since the Hurricane Katrina devastation in 2005, there has been much done to address the needs of those affected, but much more work remains. Proceeds from the sale of the We Are Family CD/DVD will be used to help organizations provide services to families across the country who were displaced by the events. The funds will also aid in disaster preparedness, assist in family strengthening, and, through Golden Key, help make a difference in society through literacy programs.
