Perwich to Step Down as CEO of Golden Key International Honour Society

ATLANTA (February 25, 2008) The Golden Key International Honour Society Board of Directors announced today that Alex Perwich plans to step down as the Society's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) by year end 2008.

“Perwich informed the board of his intentions to leave on February 13th and has agreed to remain as CEO until a replacement is installed,” said Brad Rainey, Board Chairman. “Our joint desire is to have a replacement installed by our 2008 International Conference in New Orleans which begins July 31, 2008.  A committee of the Golden Key Board of Directors has been formed and is conducting the search for a new CEO.”

"On behalf of the entire board, Golden Key members, employees and our worldwide network of college advisors, colleges, universities and partners, we want to thank Alex for his years of dedication, leadership and selfless service to the Society; and, for the significant contributions he has made since becoming CEO in June 2002," said Rainey.

As its CEO, Perwich brought an innovative blend of exceptional experience to Golden Key. A high-impact leader and transformational change agent, he drew on his extensive corporate, public and academic sector experiences to develop effective and efficient programs, systems, processes and structure that will serve Golden Key well into the future.  His philosophy at Golden Key reflected a “mission focused, values based, and demographically driven” Society.

According to Rainey, Perwich, who joined Golden Key as CEO in 2002, has decided to pursue other interests. The board intends to seek out new leadership and continue with Golden Key’s strategy to increase the relevance and value of Golden Key to its nearly 1.8 million members worldwide and to the communities in which they live.

"The Board's search for its next CEO will commence immediately," said Rainey. “We are focused on selecting the right candidate to sustain Golden Key’s strategy and vision and we fully expect that the search will be concluded in a timely manner.”
