Shaun comments, "Golden Key aims to enable members to reach their full potential. The impact that Golden Key has had on my life has been threefold. It has enabled me to grow and develop my leadership skills. I am now in a position where I can inspire and empower others to achieve their goals. A good Golden Key chapter has a strong president at its helm. However, as I have learnt, a great chapter has a great team of people working towards a common goal. By working with a strong group of committed people, the 2008 Macquarie Chapter was able to go from strength to strength."

"Golden Key has helped me broaden my professional and social network. I have attended three Golden Key conferences and have had an amazing time at every one of them. I have gained a lot from each of the workshops and come home with many more Facebook contacts than when I left! This has allowed me to develop an international network of like-minded people who have similar interests to me."

"Finally, the GK Macquarie University chapter has acted as a mechanism for me to give back to the community through various fundraising activities. Last year our chapter assisted in the organising of a Cancer Council Relay for Life which raised over $40,000 for Cancer research and awareness. It also held a successful online mentoring program with the Smith Family, as well as serving morning teas and BBQs, and raised over $2,000 for the Schoolwise Foundation (a charity that our chapter has actively supported for the past 4 years)."
