Layne comments, "I am extremely grateful to Golden Key for this special privilege. As a historian, these funds will go far in helping to further historical research and the development of historical program presentations pertaining to the American Revolution, American-Mexican War and the Civil War. The one thing I have learned is that enthusiasm breed’s enthusiasm and obtaining my Masters in Military History was only one step towards instilling that passion for history in others. As a father, husband, co-worker at Boeing and an American citizen, I have a responsibility to understand our great American heritage and the sacrifice that has been for each and every one of us, and continues to be made for us daily by our men and women in uniform.
