Canadian Undergraduate Award

Congratulations to the 2009 winners:
Ellen Gilley - McGill University ($1,000 CAN)
Ellen comments, "I have been involved in the Golden Key Chapter at McGill for three years now, and I have been fortunate to work with so many talented and dedicated members in the McGill community and other Chapters.  My experience in Golden Key has not only enabled me to become involved in my campus community and the city of Montreal, but it has also given me the opportunity to make great friends.  Knowing the achievements of my fellow members, I am honored to be recognized as one of this year’s recipients of the Canadian Undergraduate Award.  I plan to use this award to help finance the participation fees of presenting my History thesis at an international conference in October."
Daphnee Vasseur - University of Ottawa ($1,000 CAN)
Daphnee comments, "This award is a testament of the great support Golden Key offers its members. I am deeply appreciative to have received this recognition for my hard work during university. This award is even more special because it means I was chosen from a competitive pool of other highly qualified applicants.  The money awarded will help to pay off some student debt from my undergrad at the University of Ottawa, as well as give added financial support for my trip to Mysore, India this summer where I will be interning for the organization ProWorld."
Amer Pasalic - University of Windsor ($1,000 CAN)
Amer comments, "Winning this award meant a lot to me, because I will be moving out by myself for the first time and starting law school in a new city, with virtually no financial assistance from my parents. We all know how expensive professional schools can get, but every little bit helps. $1000 is a significant amount of money, and one that is well received. This money will go towards covering the majority of the cost of books for first year. I am very thankful to Golden Key for being selected as one of the recipients of this award."
Kaela Duhault- University of Alberta ($1,000 CAN)
Kaela comments, "In September 2009, I will be attending the University of Edinburgh to study business for four months.  This award will enable me to experience this international exchange to its fullest potential by participating in more extracurricular activities and travel opportunities that would otherwise have been financially restrictive. Winning this award assures me of the national support that exists in our community today.  It exemplifies the benefits of putting your best effort into your daily life."
