Caitlin comments, "It is a pleasure and an honour for me to be a part of an association that supports students in achieving their full potential; thus, I would first and foremost like to thank the Golden Key International Honour Society for selecting my candidacy for the Canadian Community Service Award. This award is much appreciated; not only will it go towards subsidizing the cost of higher education, but more importantly, it will allow for a more feasible continued involvement in the community. Although recognition is not the primary goal of community service, it is always appreciated and provides motivation for future involvement. I hope that awards such as these encourage other students around the country to give back in their own personal way." |

Emeka comments, "The Korle-Bu Neuroscience Foundation (KBNF) has been my heart and soul for almost a year now since I discovered the beauty in this organization and its mission. To further the dream to serve those less fortunate, Peace and Love International (PnL) has also found a permanent spot in my heart. Service to those in need of medicine, education and love, these are the pillars of my life. I would not have been capable of winning this award without the blessing of these two organizations and so I seek to dedicate the money to both of these projects. KBNF has invited me to join them on a medical mission this coming fall which is in need of sponsorship. This medical mission will be based in Benin City, Nigeria, and will cater to those in need of specialty surgical intervention to cure them of their illnesses. I intend to aid the mission through supplying connections to my relatives in Nigeria, as well as, act as the mission note taker and data logger...helping in whatever way possible. Additionally PnL is creating the first Peace and Love Growth Center in Ife, Nigeria, not too far away from the medical mission, allowing for me to be with both of my organizations at once. This award is a much needed and a much appreciated donation to my air fare to go to Nigeria and help those in need and continue to service them whichever way possible." |
