Boeing Engineering Scholarship
Congratulations to the 2009 winners:
Courtney Gras - University of Akron ($1,000)
Courtney comments, “I wish to personally thank Golden Key International Honour Society and The Boeing Company for making the 2009 Golden Key Boeing Engineering Scholarship available to me. I was pleased and honored to learn that I was chosen for this award. I will be starting my junior year in August 2009 at The University of Akron (UA) in Akron, Ohio in my pursuit of a Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. This scholarship will be used to assist with tuition costs for this coming semester. As a first-generation college student I am very appreciative to have the opportunity to pursue a college degree in my chosen field. It is my goal to be employed by a company that is leading the way for the advancement of new technologies in the field of Electrical Engineering."
Birce Dikici - Texas Tech University ($1,000)
Birce comments, “I am extremely honored to be the winner of the Boeing Engineering Scholarship and very delighted that my achievements have been recognized. Having currently enrolled for a PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Texas Tech University, focusing on combustion for energy generation applications, the money will help support my research projects for the next year. I wish to express my genuine gratitude and appreciation to all people who involved with this scholarship at Boeing Company and the Golden Key. You have touched many lives over the years and people realize your impact. I will stay in touch with you and keep you updated on my progress."
Awais Raza - University of Maryland-College Park ($1,000)
Awais comments, “It is a matter of honor for me to be deemed worthy of the 2009 Boeing Engineering Scholarship Award. Being one of the few selected from a large pool of applicants worldwide is no less than a privilege, and I would like to thank The Boeing Company and Golden Key International Honor Society for providing such a great opportunity to students around the globe. This generous scholarship will contribute towards my school related expenses while I pursue my Bachelors of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park."
Oluwafemi Taiwo - University of Arkansas ($1,000)
Oluwafemi comments, “I feel lucky to have won the 2009 Boeing Engineering Scholarship. Golden Key has helped me a lot through the services and benefits they offer members and this scholarship is another big reason I am a proud member of this prestigious body. The award will improve my resume and thus increase my career prospect. The money from the award will be used in purchasing textbooks that are necessary for my deeper understanding of hydraulic engineering. I want to thank the sponsors of this award. A very big thanks!"
