| Tang comments, "I am currently in my third year of the Bachelor of Philosophy program, a research-focused degree unique to the Australian National University (ANU). My majors are International Relations and Chinese, and next semester of 2007 I will be continuing my study in these areas at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). UCLA is one of the world’s top universities, especially in the area of the social sciences, and I am both excited and privileged to have the opportunity to study at such a well-respected and well-known institution."
"At UCLA, I am particularly interested in studying U.S. foreign policy, and international relations issues more generally, from a distinctly American perspective. I believe this would provide an illuminating complement to my studies of U.S. government and politics in Australia. I also hope that the independence and life-skills that I gain through this exchange program will better prepare me for the challenges of living abroad long-term in the future.
