Meagan says, "It is a great honor to be selected to receive the Asia-Pacific Community Service Award. The award will help me to continue my studies in International Public Health this year, and will also benefit The Darfur Australia Network, with whom I volunteer. The award will be used in the continuation of projects that raise awareness about the continuing tragedy in the Darfur region of Sudan, assist in the resettlement of Darfuri refugees and build solidarity between the Australian people and the people of Darfur. I am extremely grateful for the award and I would like to thank Golden Key for their support."
