Patrick says, "It is a great honour to be selected for the Asia-Pacific Community Literacy/ Numeracy Service Award. This award will greatly assist me in travelling to the remote, largely Indigenous Doomadgee community in North-West Queensland in an effort to further the aims of the Burgmann-Doomadgee Community Partnership and the Wadjularbinna Foundation. These organisations aim to enhance cultural exchange programs between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians and improve educational opportunities for Indigenous peoples. I am extremely grateful for the support I have received and I would like to thank Golden Key for helping me to develop the educational opportunities available for Australia’s Indigenous population."
