Description: This award recognizes members for their involvement in literacy-based initiatives.
Scholarships Available: Five - $1,000(USD) awards.
Eligibility: Those eligible are U.S. undergraduate and graduate members who were enrolled as students during the current academic year. More than one member from each chapter may apply for the award, and projects submitted may be individual or chapter efforts.
Criteria: Impact of service provided as determined by the selection committee.
Application requirements:
1. Follow the instructions to Register Your Scholarship Application.
2. Print out the cover page from the online registration and use it as the cover page for your entire application.
3. Attach the following required documentation:
A statement of no more than 500 words describing the literacy-based initiative and your philosophy of the importance of literacy.
A verification letter from a representative of the beneficiary of the service detailing the applicant’s involvement and performance in the literacy-based service project.
A list of extracurricular activities detailing involvement in other campus and community service, including any involvement in Golden Key. Also list any work and family commitments.
A current and comprehensive official academic transcript.
