Global Student Entrepreneur Awards

Undergrad? Entrepreneur? Want your shot at over $100,000?

The Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) Australia program is the premier award competition for undergraduate students that own and run a business while attending college or university.  Nominees compete against their peers from across Australia at Ernst & Young in August 2008, with the winner representing Australia at the GSEA Global Finals Competition in Chicago, USA in November 2008!
 
The deadline to nominate a student for the GSEA Australia competition is 1 August 2008.

Why Should You Compete in the GSEA?

Competing in the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards brings you unlimited value.

  • COMPETITION: Improve your "pitch" skills, get better at communicating the value proposition of your business and be able to answer the tough questions about your business.
  • FUN: Connect with your peers - other student entrepreneurs from around the world, as well as EO members and over 1500 entrepreneurship students at the GSEA conference in Chicago, USA.
  • EXPOSURE:  Local and national media attention for you and your business.
  • PRIZES: The winners of the GSEA Australia Competition will win a prize package plus a trip to Chicago, USA in November 2008 to represent Australia at the GSEA Global Finals Competition. The Global Finals Competition has a prize package valued at over $100,000!

Are you Eligible to Compete?

The criteria for the GSEA program:

  • You must be an undergraduate student at a recognized University or College for the 2008 academic year.
  • You must be the owner, founder or controlling shareholder of their company and principally responsible for its operation.
  • Your company must have been in business for at least the last six consecutive months.
  • You must not be a past GSEA winner and/or not one of the four finalists for the 2007 GSEA competition.

I'm Ready!  How do I Nominate a Student Entrepreneur? 

Step 1: Go to www.gsea.org, click the "Nominate" button and complete the online nomination form.

Step 2: After GSEA has received the nomination, they will contact the student entrepreneur nominated to complete a more detailed application.

Step 3: A student entrepreneur is considered fully nominated once GSEA has received the completed online application.  From there they will follow up to invite the student to the GSEA Australia Competition.
