Description: This award recognizes members who excel in pre-professional or professional programs leading to careers in human or veterinary medicine, dentistry, biomedical research or other related professions.

Scholarships Available: One (1) winner receives $5,000 (USD).

Eligibility: Undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students who are currently enrolled in classes in a degree-granting program or members who will be enrolled in classes at an accredited institution during the calendar year immediately following the granting of the award.*

Criteria: Academic achievement, demonstrated leadership qualities, scholarly basic or applied research.

Application requirements:

1. Follow the instructions to Register Your Scholarship Application. During this process you will be prompted for an ACCESS KEY. The ACCESS KEY is GKIHS.

2.  Print out the cover page from the online registration and it use as the cover page for your entire application.

3. Attach the following required documentation:

A written statement, no more than 5 pages, discussing your personal and professional goals over the next ten years. Include significant persons and/or events that have influenced your decision and where relevant, contributions made to the current knowledge of science through scholarly research. 

A personal résumé or curriculum vitae.

A letter of recommendation from ONE of the following:

a) A faculty member in your major field of study.
b) A faculty member who is familiar with your minor field of study or other areas of interest.
c) A university official familiar with your involvement in the university.

A current and comprehensive official academic transcript.
