Literacy and numeracy are fundamental skills that are critically important to Australia’s future prosperity and position in the world. The promotion of strong literacy and numeracy skills amongst remote communities assists in countering educational and social disadvantage.

Eligibility: Golden Key members of an Australian, New Zealand or Malaysian chapter currently enrolled in a university.
Criteria: Academic achievement, community service efforts, community service organisation affiliation, application form and essay.

2. Attach the following required documentation:
A submission of no more than two pages describing the remote community service work that you have been involved with and the organisation you have partnered with, in particular, how you have demonstrated leadership in encouraging others to partake in supporting community service. Outline the involvement and affiliation that you currently have in this community service and your plans for future contributions. Why is your area of service important to the wider community?
A letter of recommendation from the charity or group that you are involved with. You must be presently active in community service and the letter should make reference to this fact.
An academic transcript (copies accepted).
