Professor Ross Garnaut is a Distinguished Professor of The Australian National University as well as both a Professorial Fellow (Faculty of Economics and Commerce) and a Vice-Chancellor's Fellow at the University of Melbourne. He is currently Chairman of a number of international companies and research organisations, including the International Food Policy Research Institute. Professor Garnaut is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences of Australia and Honorary Professor of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
From 1985 to 1988, Professor Garnaut was Australian Ambassador to China. He is the author of numerous books, monographs and articles on international economics, public finance and international development, particularly in relation to East Asia and the Southwest Pacific. Professor Ian Chubb is the Vice-Chancellor and President of The Australian National University. His career includes six years as Vice-Chancellor of Flinders University and senior executive appointments at Monash University and the University of Wollongong. In June 1999, Chubb was made an Officer of the Order of Australia for his services to higher education. Flinders University awarded him an honorary DSc in 2000, and in April 2003 he was awarded the Centenary Medal for service to Australian society through tertiary education and university administration.
In June 2006, Professor Chubb was appointed a Companion of the Order of Australia for "service to higher education including research and development policy in the pursuit of advancing the national interest socially, economically, culturally and environmentally and to the facilitation of a knowledge-based global economy."
Jen Dalitz is a business consultant and management expert on topics relating to leadership, managing change and bringing authenticity to business. She specializes in helping organisations and individuals to get real and get results, with a common sense approach that simply isn’t that common any more. Jen is a CPA and has a Masters of Business Administration (Executive) from the AGSM and a Bachelor of Arts (Accountancy). With 15 years experience in finance and consulting across a host of Fortune 500 companies, she has plenty of business cred. As the founder and SheEO™ of sphinxx – a community dedicated to advancing women as leaders – Jen is also an expert on the issues women face in forging their careers. She is the author of Little Wins for Working Women.
Jen will deliver a presentation on straight talking, and share how some of her lessons from life on a farm relate to the workforce, or indeed any groups where people have to work together. She will also run a separate workshop looking at women in the workforce.
Anh Do is a veteran of the Australian stand-up comedy circuit, having played all the major venues in Australia & New Zealand many times over. He's been named "Sydney Comedian of the Year", won the NSW Triple J Raw comedy competition and the national Green Faces comedy comp. After graduating from the Sydney University of Technology with a Bachelor of Business and a Bachelor of Laws, he co-wrote (with his brother Khoa) the film "The Finished People" which was chosen for official selection at the Montreal International Film Festival and released nationally by Dendy. Anh Do is a world class performer with an amazing tale to tell. Don't miss it!

Carole Brown has more than 20 years in the career development field in Australia, working with groups and individuals in public, private, community and education sectors. She has managed a university careers centre, worked extensively with corporate and public sector clients, facilitated workforce re-entry programmes for women, and co-ordinated mature-age employment and rehabilitation programmes.
She currently holds the position of Senior Consultant of Career Development at The Australian National University, responsible for career development programs for staff across the university. She is also director of a successful career management consultancy. Carole has spoken at several national and international conferences and is regularly invited to run continuing education courses in this field. She is a Fellow of the Career Development Association of Australia and is currently its National Vice-President and holds a position on the Board of the Career Industry Council of Australia.
Andrew Leigh is an associate professor in the Economics Program of the Research School of Social Sciences at The Australian National University. His current research is in the fields of labour economics, public finance and the economics of elections. He holds a PhD from Harvard University, and has previously worked as a lawyer, political adviser and a think-tank researcher. He has published over thirty journal articles and two books, is a regular columnist for the "Australian Financial Review" and writes a semi-daily weblog. In 2006, he received an Early Career Award from the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia. He will be presenting a workshop looking at the future of Australian society and the choice that we will need to make collectively. John Henderson is General Manager of Hudson ACT. In this role John assumes overall responsibility for Hudson's ACT operations. John recently moved his family to Canberra from Edinburgh, where he spent five years working as a Project and Program Manager with the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), overseeing a number of complex and highly successful integration and resourcing projects. Prior to this, John held senior roles within a number of well regarded recruitment companies across both the UK and Europe including Spring Plc and Ajilon.
Philip Weinman co-founded HiSoft, the software/hardware solutions business which grew rapidly to employ over 400 people in five countries. Within five years, HiSoft was to be Australia’s largest privately owned IT Company, with a turnover in excess of $300 million. Since then Philip has started and run several businesses. He is a true entrepreneur and says that "being passionate, together with a flat and informal management structure, profit share scheme and high level of staff empowerment are the driving factors behind my success."
Among Philip’s many passions are his philanthropic activities. He has sat on numerous boards, including The Crisis Centre & The International Diabetes Institute. He currently sits on the Board of the Melbourne Jazz Festival.
