Accelerator is an intensive immersion in business designed exclusively for undergraduates and recent grads in all majors. In four fast-paced weeks, some of the top young minds from around the globe are immersed in real-world consulting roles for companies, helping to solve issues in marketing, logistics, finance, operations and branding.

Within a competitive team structure and with a "grab it and go" education from world-class Vanderbilt faculty, these students are challenged to deliver the best solutions possible for these businesses. Participating companies who have committed projects for the 2008 program to date include: American Airlines, Bridgestone, Caterpillar Financial, Coors Brewing Co., Gresham, Smith & Partners, Griffin Technologies, Humana, Livescribe, William Morris Agency and YUM! Brands. These companies, and others that will be added in the coming weeks, will propel the students to learn business by doing business.

This immersive consulting experience truly sets Accelerator apart from other undergraduate business programs. You’ll find yourself interacting directly with key decision-makers, often dealing with upper-level managers, including CEOs, whom you might never meet in internships or even in entry-level positions. Accelerator opens doors to an array of networking opportunities for participants. Most project launches take the students on-site to company headquarters, providing unparalleled access and exposure to resources.

Accelerator 2008 will take place from 6 June to 3 July 2008 at the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management in Nashville, Tennessee. Golden Key members who are accepted into the program will receive a $500 discount. When applying, simply select "Golden Key 2008" from the drop-down menu when asked "What is your primary source?" to be eligible for the discount.

Admissions Process

Accelerator is a small, selective program comprised of outstanding undergraduates and recent college grads. In evaluating candidates for admission, we look for students who:

• Have a strong record of achievement
• Have a strong desire to learn and apply new concepts
• Will bring energy and enthusiasm to this experience

Application Process

Online applications are now available at http://admissions.owen.vanderbilt.edu/accelerator and are being accepted for the 2008 program. Applying is easy! To begin the application process, please submit:

• Your completed application form
• Your resume/CV

The Accelerator admissions committee will review your application form and resume/CV. We will contact you to schedule a personal interview (in person or by phone). Prior to the interview, we will need the following:

• Unofficial transcript from current or last college attended
• Personal essay
• Two letters of recommendation (optional)
